Expand Product Options in Store

Feature Request: a product option that allows for text input by customers (whereas right now it only allows for checkboxes)

I am trying to sell a product in my store that requires customization (Text entered by the customer)

My current workaround as advised by Support was to make a custom account field and add that to the Buyer Checkout Info form.

This will work for now, but does pose problems if I ever want to sell more than one item or if customers want to purchase more than one at a time.
