I appreciate the auto merge feature, really I do. And I know NOTHING about programming. But I just wonder - beg, even - if we couldn't get some kind of refinement to it so that when a merge takes place and the address is basically the same, I don't lose the county the constituent is located in. I spend A LOT of time updating counties because we do occasionally need to communicate with people in a particular county (usually in a hurry because of legislation that comes up). And it frustrates me to no end when I go into a record that has been merged and updated and the address has been "fixed" and the county is gone.
It just seems like there should be a better way. I got so frustrated that I turned off the auto merge feature and that was even worse. I wound up spending an equal amount of time manually cruising through duplicate records.
