Setting Sub-Membership Terms
After creating a new Membership Level and if it is a group membership, you can have sub-members within the group. We need to establish sub-member terms for this group. A Membership Term is a configuration that fills in the price and length of time for the membership. You may configure several terms for the same membership level. For example, you could set a one-year term at $25, and a two-year term of the same membership at $40.
1. Navigate to Settings cog and select Global Settings.
2. Under Memberships, Select Levels & Terms.
3. Select the group membership you would like to add sub-member terms to.
4. Select Add Sub-member Term on the Join row.
5. Complete the fields on the Membership Term/Pricing configuration page. Select Submit when finished.
When creating membership terms, you will configure the Join term and the Renew term at the same time. This can be useful if you want to have a low joining fee, but perhaps a higher rate to maintain membership. You must add at least one membership term to each membership level, but you can add as many different terms as you like.
Note: The settings on this page will only affect new members. The renew option in this section refers to the end of the new members term. You will need to set conditions for existing members.
Field Name |
Description |
|
A. |
Display Name |
This is the name that will display on your Membership Forms. When you enter the name of the Join term, Neon will auto-populate the Renew term with the same name and identify it as the "(Renew)" term. |
B. |
Fee |
The Fee is the price a constituent must pay for this membership term. The fee for Renew term can be different from the Join term if you like. |
C. |
Term |
The Term is the length of time this membership lasts before expiring. This can be any number of days, months, years, or a lifetime. Specify the term duration and term unit for each membership. The renew term duration and unit will be the same as the join term. |
Allow members to enter their own membership payment amount online - members can choose to pay however much they want for this membership, as long as it is equal to or larger than the fee you've set for the membership level. Note: This option can only be used for one membership term at a time.
Hide this membership term - hides the Membership Term from appearing on Legacy online membership forms.
6. Repeat this process for the renewing members by selecting Add Sub-member Term in the Renew row.
7. Complete the fields in the Membership Term/ Pricing section. When finished, select Submit.
