GivingTuesday was started in 2012 with the goal of establishing a "global generosity movement". Since then, hundreds of millions of people have participated in GivingTuesday campaigns to support nonprofit organizations around the world.
With Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024 right around the corner, we wanted to provide some email drafts and a donation form you can utilize to kickstart your GivingTuesday campaigns. We consulted with the GivingTuesday team directly and researched best practices to ensure that these resources will be beneficial to your organization and your donors.
Note: You'll only see these in your Neon CRM system if you have Fundraising functionality.
Email Campaigns
Starting September 21st, six email drafts will be available for you to customize and send over time in order to remind, engage, and thank your donors:

Send Before GivingTuesday: Save the Date Template #1, Save the Date Template #2
- Reminder emails sent leading up to GivingTuesday, so your donors are informed of your planned campaign

Send on GivingTuesday: Appeal Template - Give Today #1, Appeal Template - Give Today #2, Monthly Gift Appeal Template
- Emails sent on the day of as a call-to-action to donate or become a monthly donor

Send After GivingTuesday: Post-Event Update Template
- Email sent after GivingTuesday has finished, in which you can share your accomplishments and thank your donors for participating

Send Before GivingTuesday: Save the Date Template #1, Save the Date Template #2
- Each email contains GivingTuesday branding as well as placeholder content which you'll edit to fit your organization's needs.
- These email drafts will be present in the Email Campaigns list, under Emails > Email Campaigns.
Donation Appreciation System Emails
- Available starting September 21st
- Email versions for one-time and recurring GivingTuesday donations can be customized and marked as ready to send by going to Global Settings > System Emails.
- You can choose to set up a system email condition, and/or mark the one-time donation email version as the default version to send out for all donations on GivingTuesday.
Donation Form & Theme
- Available starting September 21st
- GivingTuesday branding
- The form can be edited under Forms & Pages > Forms.
- The custom theme can be modified under Global Settings > Themes.
Email Customization
While the donation form will be ready to go once published, you'll need to edit the email drafts before sending them.
Below, you can see an example of an email draft - note that it has [bracketed] areas where you'll need to add your own personalized content. However, there are also {{tokens}} included throughout, which will automatically populate with your organization's values.
