Note: Donation matching is unavailable for campaigns with multi-currency enabled.
Donation match settings appear in the Admin under Forms > Donation Settings > Match Settings.
The "Enable Donation Match Form" setting allows administrators to show or hide the match form on a given campaign site, and also controls whether fundraising pages display a "Match My Page" widget that links to the match form. (All Admin match features and any existing active matches are functional regardless of the state of this setting.)
On the homepage, administrators can enable the "Promote Matches" widget that invites users to create matches, promotes any active matches with the match multiplier to encourage donors to take advantage of the match, or counts down to any future scheduled matches. Administrators can enable this widget via Site Builder as they would any other widget, and can modify the content under Website > Customize > "Widget Text - Donation Matching - Campaign Homepage". Click here to learn more.
Administrators can also add a navigation menu link and/or button through Site Builder that directs users to the match form at {{ Campaign.URL }}/donate/match
.
On the donation page, administrators can add text above the donation form promoting the match feature. Some possible messaging ideas can include that if a donor is considering a donation greater than a given amount, they should consider turning it into a match instead, with a link to the match form.
Once a match is active, some areas of the site will update automatically to reflect the active match:
- The homepage "Match" widget will promote active matches and display the match multiplier donors can take advantage of.
- A sidebar widget on fundraising pages also promotes active matches in the same way.
- The donation page will feature a widget that promotes any active matches.
- Effective amount will be displayed on the donation page as the donor donates.
- Recent donations will be displayed with effective amount and information about the matchers.
