How to Create a Discount Code

Neon Fundraise allows you to offer discount codes to new registrants or ticket purchasers, allowing them to register to attend an event for free, or for a discounted price.

Discount codes features:

• Limit the amount of times a single code may be used
• Discount by an absolute dollar amount (e.g., $3.00), or by percentage (e.g., 35%)
• Activate and deactivate codes on preset dates
• Limit the discount code to apply to registration, specific registration fields AND/OR to ticket purchases
  Note: discount codes cannot be applied selectively to options within a single field (e.g., multi-select or multiple choice fields), rather they must be applied to the entire registration field with all its included options.
• Enable a code for users who are registering above a certain amount of people

Discount code limitations:

• Discount codes do not apply to each ticket purchased when you purchase multiple of the same tickets.
• Discount codes are only available to be used through online forms. They cannot be manually added to transactions by administrators through the admin interface.

Create a Discount Code

To create a new discount code:

1. Log into the Admin at admin.rallybound.com
2. Navigate to the relevant campaign
3. Click the "Forms" tab
4. Click "Discount Codes" in the left sidebar
5. Click "Add Discount Code" 
6. Title the discount code (this is not case sensitive)
7. Indicate the amount of times a single code may be used
8. Indicate the discount amount, either by an absolute dollar amount (e.g., 3.25), or by percentage (e.g., 35)
9. Add an activation or expiration date (optional)
10. Limit the discount to apply to registration AND/OR to ticket purchases.
    1. In the "On Registration" section, the discount can be applied to:
       1. Entire Registration: Applies the discount to the total amount of the registration(s) at checkout (Only available for role registration).
       2. Each Registration: Applies the discount code individually to each registration. If the registrant pays for multiple registrations at once by adding additional registrants, each registration will receive the discount separately, as opposed to the total amount at checkout.
       3. Specify Roles/Fields: Choose specific roles, and optionally specific fields, to discount. Click on multiple dropdown options to select multiple roles and fields.
    2. In the "On Ticket" section, the discount can be applied to
       1. Entire ticket purchase: Applies the discount to the total amount of the ticket(s) purchased at checkout.
       2. Any ticket: Applies the discount to each ticket purchased separately. If multiple tickets are purchased at once, each ticket will receive the discount separately, as opposed to the total amount at checkout.
       3. Specify Tickets: Select a ticket or tickets that the discount applies to. Click on multiple dropdown options to select multiple tickets.

1. Optionally enable the discount code only if the user is registering a minimum amount of people
2. Click "Save" at the bottom (or "Save and New" to create another discount code)
