National teams allows organizations to aggregate and display fundraising efforts of teams and fundraisers across campaigns towards one national goal.
National teams has been built to be configured in various ways, allowing the feature to address the unique requirements of any organization. The various configuration options are listed below.
To change any configuration, please contact us.
Displaying fundraising activity from ended campaigns
Default: Don't display
National teams exclude fundraising data from teams and fundraisers on ended campaigns.
Alternate configuration: Display
National teams aggregate and display fundraising data from teams and fundraisers on ended campaigns.
Who can associate a local team with a national team
Default: Administrators
Only administrators may associate local teams with national teams.
Alternate configuration: Team captains
Local team captains may associate their team with a national team in the role registration process.
This configuration includes a second configuration option to allow only one or multiple local teams to associate with a national team on a single campaign.
How fundraisers join a national team
Default: Fundraisers join existing local teams
Fundraisers can only join a national team by joining a local team that is associated with a national team.
In this configuration:
- Only local teams will be presented to a fundraiser as available teams to join
- The national team page will display a “Join” button only if there is already a local team associated with it on that particular campaign
- The “My Team” tab in the fundraiser dashboard will display national team information alongside the fundraiser’s local team information.
Alternate configuration 1: Fundraisers can join national teams directly
Fundraisers can join national teams directly. Local teams can still be associated with national teams.
In this configuration:
- All local teams plus all available national teams will be presented to a fundraiser as available teams to join
- The national team page will always display a “Join” button for non-logged in users. This will direct the user to registration where, if no associated local team is available, the national team is preselected as their team to join.
- Fundraisers joined directly to a national team will see a “My Team” tab in their dashboard that displays information related to the national team.
Alternate configuration 2: Ad-hoc team creation
Fundraisers can only join a national team through a local team, but if there is no associated local team currently on the present campaign, joining the national team automatically creates a new local team associated with the national team. The team’s name will be “[National team name] - [campaign name]”.
This configuration ensures that there is always a local-to-national team association and gives new registrants the opportunity to join a national team even if a local team has not yet been established.
In this configuration:
- All local teams plus any national team that has no associated local team on the present campaign will be presented to a fundraiser as available teams to join
- The national team page will display a “Join” button that will direct the user to registration where, if no associated local team is available, the national team is preselected as their team to join. In the latter scenario, upon registration, an associated local team will be created and the registrant joined to that team (not as captain).
- The “My Team” tab in the fundraiser dashboard will display national team information alongside the fundraiser’s local team information.
