How to Refund and/or Delete a Donation
Neon Fundraise allows administrators to edit many details of a donation, including refunding and/or deleting a donation. Follow these steps to refund or delete a donation:
- Log into the Admin at admin.rallybound.com
- Navigate to the campaign on which the donation was submitted
- Click the "Transactions" tab
- Click "Donations" in the left sidebar
- Find and select the donation you'd like to refund or delete, then:
- If you would like to delete the donation record from Neon Fundraise but not refund the donation itself, click Delete in the top of the donation record, then click Yes to confirm. If you already deleted a donation and would like to refund it, please see here.
- If you would like to refund the donation and delete the donation record from Neon Fundraise, click Refund and Delete, then Yes to confirm. (This option is not available for offline donations.)
Note: If you refund a donation directly through your payment processor (instead of refunding through Neon Fundraise) the donation will still show up on your site (in goals, recent donations, and reporting) until you delete the donation record from the admin panel following the steps above.
How to Partially Refund a Donation

This feature is only available for campaigns in which Neon Pay is configured as the payment processor and Role Registration as the registration flow. Click here to learn more about Neon Pay. Click here to learn more about Neon Fundraise's Role Registration flow.
For organizations that use Neon Pay as their processor, administrators can partially refund role registration transactions. Transaction fees assessed for the registration will also be refunded corresponding to the percentage of the refund given (i.e. a 50% refund on the donation will result in a 50% refund of fees to the nonprofit). While the payment processor fee refund is subject to the processor's terms of service, Neon Fundraise has committed in all cases to refunding the percentage of our transaction fees associated with the partial refund.
Please note that transactions can only be refunded once, regardless of whether it is a partial or full refund.
To refund a donation partially, follow these steps:
- Log in to the Admin at admin.rallybound.com
- Navigate to the relevant campaign
- Click the "Transactions" tab
- Click "Registrations" in the left sidebar
- Double-click any registration record associated with the relevant registration transaction
- Click "Partial Refund" at the top of the transaction record
- Enter an amount to refund that is less than the total transaction amount, click OK
- Confirm
- Refresh the grid to view your changes
How to Refund a Donation that has been Deleted from Neon Fundraise
If you have accidentally deleted a donation from Neon Fundraise system without refunding first, you can still refund the donation from your payment processor. Please go to your payment processor account and make a refund from their site.
