Once your Neon CRM Standard or Premium import is complete, your assigned Implementation Consultant will briefly review the import for quality assurance. Your consultant will then notify you that your import is complete - this will indicate the start of your data review period.
If you are unsure which import type you purchased refer to your contract, Implementation Agenda, or reach out to your Consultant.
If you purchased a Premium Import, you will have a 14 day data review period.
For a Premium Import, you will do the following:
- Schedule your 30 minute Data Review Call via your consultant's scheduling link
- Review your import by spot checking accounts, transactions, and/or relationships
- Provide import related feedback and questions to the Data Review Document your consultant shared with you - provide specific examples of errors (account #'s or full names, transactions with dates, etc.)
If you purchased a Standard Data Import, you will have a 7 day data review period.
For a Standard Import, you will do the following:
- Review your import by spot checking accounts, transactions, and/or relationships
- Provide import related feedback and questions to your consultant via email - provide specific examples of errors (account #'s or full names, transactions with dates, etc.)
Review Tips
There are a few things to keep in mind as you review your Import:
- In many cases, the number of accounts and the transaction totals in your Neon CRM system may not match your old database. This is due to de-duplication, differences between Neon CRM's transaction tracking and your former system's tracking, and other deviations between your old system and Neon CRM.
- Data that was tracked in one place in your old system may be tracked differently in Neon CRM. For example, Neon CRM tracks donations, event registrations, memberships, and store purchases as separate types of transactions. If your previous system tracked all of these transactions as "donations," you may get different results in reports than you are used to.
- Remember that you may have elected not to import some data into Neon CRM. If you chose not to import accounts created prior to a certain date, for example, you will not find them in Neon CRM, even if they were included in the data that you provided for import.
Overview List Pages
Each CRM module (Fundraising, Events, Memberships, Accounts etc.) gives you an overview list page. This overview page allows you some simple filtering options and the ability to quickly spot check the total number of accounts, dollar amount of donations or fundraising campaign totals, event registrations, and/or memberships. Below are examples of the Accounts, Donations & Pledges, and Fundraising Campaign list pages.

Accounts
Things to look out for:
- Were households and other relationships created as expected? (Either creating full accounts for all parties or creating contact records)
- Was there any data that you had asked to be imported to custom fields? Is the data correct on the appropriate accounts?
- Refer to the Duplicate Management tool to review any duplicate records
Run Reports:
In Neon CRM you can run reports that we have configured for you (One Click Reports), or create a new report if you need to get more granular. This is a good way to help you quickly look at report totals, or output columns in bulk and compare to your previous system or spreadsheets.
Running reports during your data review is a great way to look at:
- Donation Totals for specific campaigns or within a date range
- Active vs. Inactive Members
- Total Event Registrations or Revenue for one or multiple events
Helpful resources:
Reviewing Transactions:
Similar to how you spot checked accounts, you will also spot check your transactions. Remember, Neon CRM considers donations, membership payments, and event registrations as different types of transactions so you'll want to review each type.
