The first question you may be asking yourself is: What is SEO? SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. This is how you make sure your website, including individual pages and posts appear high on the list of results in the search results of a search engine (Google, Bing, etc.).
Neon has partnered with Yoast SEO to help you optimize your content to appear in search engines. Yoast SEO has instructions and documentation on how to use their product, including a Knowledge Base. We are not going to recreate the excellent documentation they have already created, however, we have included a few tips and tricks below.
Readability
Each page or post on your site is given a color (red, orange or green) based on Yoast SEO's analysis of the page. The Readability tab provides you with a brief analysis of why your page received that color and recommendations for making improvements to the page. It also links you to further information from Yoast SEO's knowledge base of resources.
Keyword
Under Keyword you have two areas to edit: Snippet and Focus Keyword.
The Snippet is a preview of what your post might look like in search results. You can learn more about Snippet Preview here. From here you can edit the title, description and slug, which is the end of the URL.
Your Focus Keyword allows you to "Pick the main keyword or keyphrase that this post/page is about." Once you have picked your Focus Keyword, Yoast SEO will do additional Analysis of the post or page, helping you to refine your content.
