Before continuing with outlining the process to delete an import, it is important to make a distinction between the two types of imports you can make via the Import Manager:
- Import refers to using the Import Manager to add new accounts to your Neon CRM system (as well as new donations, new legacy event registrations, and new memberships associated with those new accounts).
- Account Batch Update refers to using Neon CRM account IDs to update existing accounts in your Neon CRM system.
For Imports:
Neon CRM allows you to delete the import of new account, new donation, new legacy event registration, and new membership information imported via the Import Manager. Please note: The CRM will prevent you from deleting new accounts if
- transactions (donations, event registrations, memberships, and/or store purchases),
- households, and/or
- account relationships
have been added to any of the newly imported accounts after the import. The transaction, household, and/or account relationship information must be deleted from such accounts in order for the new account to be deleted.
For Account Batch Updates:
Account Batch Updates cannot be undone. You can delete the import history record from the list under the Import Manager, but this will not undo the updates made to the existing accounts.
Deleting an Import
To delete an import:
1. Select Tools in the navigation menu and then select Import Manager in the drop-down menu.
On the Import Manager list page:
2. Locate the applicable import and continue per the information below.
At this point, you have two options:
- Delete the entire import, or
- Delete only certain accounts or transactions in the import.
Follow the applicable option below.
Option 1: Delete an Entire Import
There are two methods to delete an entire import:
Method 1
At the right end of the row of the import you wish to delete:
1. Select the Trash Can icon.
On the Delete Import pop-up:
2. Select Delete and Close.
All accounts or transactions in the import are now deleted from the CRM.
Method 2
On the Import Manager list page:
1. Locate the applicable import and select number link of the accounts or transactions imported. (In the image below, 5 event registration transactions will be deleted.)
On the pop-up that appears:
2. Select Delete Imported [Registrations]. (The word in the brackets will vary depending on the type of content you are deleting.)
On the Delete Registration pop-up:
3. Type DELETE (in all capital letters) in the top field. (You may optionally enter a reason for the deletion in the second field.)
4. Select Delete and Close.
All accounts or transactions in the import are now deleted from the CRM.
Option 2: Delete Specific Accounts or Transactions from an Import
On the Import Manager list page:
1. Locate the applicable import and select number link of the accounts or transactions imported. (In the image below, 5 membership transactions will be deleted.)
On the pop-up that appears:
2. Hover your cursor at the end of the row of the account or transaction you wish to delete.
3. Select the Trash Can icon that appears.
On the pop-up that appears:
4. Enter a deletion reason if you wish (optional).
5. Select Delete and Close.
The selected account or transaction in the import is now deleted from the CRM. You may repeat this process if you wish to delete another single import.
