In order to take payments from constituents with addresses outside the United States and Canada, you will need to do make sure that your payment processor is set up to take international payments.
Check your Payment Processor
Log in to your payment processing account or contact the vendor to ensure that your account is setup to accept international credit card payments.
Neon Pay is able to accept payments from international credit cards automatically.
Make sure that State/Province is not required in your Address Verification (AVS) settings if you are using iATS Payments.
Update Your Neon Forms
The data entered into your credit card forms is passed to your payments gateway for verification. Both the public access and constituent versions of this form must include all fields required by your gateway's Address Verification System (AVS) in order for your payments to process.
Neon Pay does not require any address information to process payments.
State/Province vs. Territory
Your Neon CRM forms have two fields that can collect data to fulfill the AVS State requirement.
State/Province is a dropdown menu consisting only of US states and territories and Canadian provinces. Constituents outside of the United States and Canada who try to use your forms will not be able to use this field.
Territory is a free-entry text field.
The following payment gateways will accept data from either the State/Province or Territory fields for address verification:
- CardPointe
- Authorize.net
The following payment gateways will not accept data from the Territory field:
- iATS Payments
To support international payments using these gateways, you can:
- Remove the Credit Card State/Province field from your credit card payment page entirely. OR
- Include the Credit Card State/Province field on your form, so long as it is not required.
Configure your Credit Card Page
Configure the fields on your Public Access and Constituent versions of the Credit Card payment page to accept international credit cards. Do this by navigating to Settings cog Global Settings Forms & Web Pages Standard Forms Configure Fields & Sections
Add Territory to your Standard Forms
You'll need to customize your forms so that the available form fields accommodate constituents with addresses outside of the U.S. To do that, include both State/Province and Territory fields on any Neon forms where you wish to collect addresses. Standard Neon forms are customized at Settings cog Global Settings Forms & Web Pages Standard Forms Configure Fields & Sections.
After you select the page you want to customize, you can determine which fields are available for that particular form in Step 2: Select Page Fields for Page. Use the Page Fields Selector to add both the State/Province and Territory fields to your form.
You can determine which fields are required or optional and change the display names for fields in Step 3: Customize Page. For most Neon forms, It's up to you to decide whether or not to make State/Province or Territory required.
