Note: This guide is intended for current Users of Neon who are interested in turning on the feature after using Neon without it.
So you want to use the Account Match & Queue? Great! You can use this duplicate prevention & management feature whether your constituents log in or not, but implementing this feature will look a little different depending on if you are using the Constituent Login Portal. The Constituent Login Portal is the best way for constituents to
- access timesheets,
- access constituent-restricted custom web pages,
- manage their recurring transactions,
- manage their peer to peer fundraising page,
- and upload files.
Additionally, constituents should be logged in to renew their memberships or receive constituent-restricted event registration prices. These can be done through the Constituent Login Portal or Email Link Authentication.
However, if you are not using these features, no need to ask constituents to log in.
Once you follow the steps below to implement the Account Match & Queue, be sure to regularly manage potential duplicates from the Partial Match Queue.
Are you using the Constituent Login Portal?
- Option 1: No
- Option 2: Yes, but only to prevent duplicate accounts
- Option 3: Yes, for membership renewals, timesheets, & more.
Option 1: No
No need to start now. Here are your next steps:
- Turn on the Account Match & Queue.
- If you haven’t already, schedule 3 Duplicate Scans.
- Add the Account Match & Queue widget to your dashboard to know when you have partial matches.
- Remove any text on your online forms that references the login portal. The following text is present by default on all Standard Public Access forms:
“If you would like to manage your NeonCRM account (i.e., view and print donation history, update profile, etc.), please create a login name and password below. Your password must be at least eight characters long, and contain at least one number.”
- Remove all references to login from your System Emails. It is there by default in the Membership Registration & Membership Renewal emails.
