Widgets are an add to your Inspire site that allow you to perform a specific function. This allows you to have your site dynamically update certain content to display. Widgets can be placed in 3 places in your Inspire site:
- The Widget Footer (related guide: Editing your Inspire Website Header and Footer)
- The Primary Sidebar
- Individual Pages (related guide: Creating Pages in your Inspire Site)
The Primary Sidebar is what appears alongside your individual Posts for people to navigate between posts. See the example below:
Widgets for Posts
The majority of the widgets available relate to posts. These will allow you to pull a variety of content related to your posts (categories, tags, calendar, etc). For Inspire sites that heavily use the blog, this can be an effective way for your user to see the variety of posts that are added to your site.
The Widgets related to posts are:
- Archives
- Categories
- Recent Comments
- RSS
- Tag Cloud
- Calendar
- Recent Posts
- Custom Menu
The remaining Widgets (Pages, Search, Text) are not specifically related to posts, and are described in the Widgets menu.
There are two specific widgets that have been specially added to your Inspire site that communicate directly with your NeonCRM.
NeonCRM Email Signup: This widget will allow you to display an email signup form that adds people to a NeonCRM email audience. In order to use this widget you will need to know the Audience ID of the individual audience you want the emails to feed into.
To obtain your Audience ID in Neon, you will need to login to your NeonCRM system. Within your system navigate to Communications>Email Audiences. If you hover your mouse over the view, the full URL of the Audience will appear in the bottom of your web browser, which will include the ID.
In our sample Inspire site, this displays as seen below:
NeonCRM Upcoming Events: This widget will pull your upcoming events from your NeonCRM Event List. There are specific settings about what data about events to include, such as the date, time or registration link.
