Standard Payment Methods
The system includes standard payment methods of Credit Card, Cash, Check, and Comp. Only Credit Card applies for online transactions, whereas you can also use Cash, Check, and Comp via the admin transaction screens - box office, door sale, retail, enrollment, and donation.
In Box Office mode, you have the option of using Reserve to create an unpaid ticket transaction. When a reservation is processed a confirmation email for the reservation is sent to the patron, from which they can choose to cancel the reservation, or opt to pay for the reservation via credit card online. The confirmation email also includes the Reminder Date that the box officer can set on the box office screen, and is referred to in the email as an "expiration date", implying that the reservation may be released once that date is reached, unless payment has been received.
NOTE: The system does have the capability to process reservations via the public pages... this is a rarely used feature wherein a client wishes to allow patrons to end their online ticket transaction as an unpaid reservation. Speak to your CS rep about this option if it is of interest to you.
Optional Payment Methods
The system also has a CCE (credit card external) payment method, and an OTHER payment method as options for you to use on admin transaction screens.
CCE would be used if a credit card transaction is processed outside of the system, and you want to record it on a transaction in the system. This will then break out this money on reports that list each payment method.
OTHER payment method can be used if you accept some form of unusual payments, such a billing the amount to some external customer acct, in-kind payment such as the donation of an item instead of $ but you want to record the value, etc.
CCE and OTHER payment method options can be activated from the Payment Types section in Global Settings.
Arts People accepts PayPal as a payment method on the public pages for patrons buying online. Visit this article about accepting PayPal for more information.
