Online Reservations
The online reservation option allows patrons to select tickets online and pay for them at a later date.
If your organization allows online reservations you can specify a minimum number of tickets per performance in order to complete the reservation. If the patron doesn’t meet the minimum requirement, the reserve option simply doesn’t appear on the payment screen.
By default, the online reservation option is not enabled. If you would like to utilize online reserves, contact client services for activation. Once your account is set up to process online reservations you can specify a minimum ticket requirement for online reservations. To set a minimum number of tickets for online reservations:
- Go to the Global Settings page, in the Privileged set up section.
- Scroll down to the Ticketing section.
- Enter the minimum number of tickets on the “Reserves: Require a minimum” line. NOTE: The minimum tickets required ONLY applies to reservations made through the public pages, not the box office screen.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save to save your changes.
REQUIRED: You must also update a required system message if you wish to use online reservations. There are three system messages related to online reservations.
1) reserve_option_checkbox_intro
2) reserve_option_text_intro
3) below_reserve_option
These system messages are located in the technical group on our System messages screen. Setup Menu > Graphics setup > System messages > technical.
The system message that is REQUIRED is reserve_option_checkbox_intro. This system message accompanies the required checkbox patrons must click to convert their order from a paid order to a reserve order. If there is no text in the reserve_option_checkbox_intro system message, the necessary checkbox does not appear and the order cannot be placed on reserve. We recommend the following text: "Click here to reserve your order" in the reserve_option_checkbox_intro system message. The reserve_option_text_intro and below_reserve_option system messages are optional.
If you decide you no longer want to allow online reservations, contact client services to disable the service and remove the text from the reserve_option_checkbox_intro system message.
