Check out the video here of how to complete test transactions.
Prices and discounts can be tested by selecting tickets in the box office screen or via the public pages, without applying a payment. When the tickets are placed on the order the "Price Term" field will display the specific price terms applying to each individual ticket. If for some reason the pricing is not applying correctly, this field will help you by showing you which price terms ARE applying.
However, if you want to test a transaction all the way through the payment process and even print a ticket, test reporting and list pulls, etc, you can do so by using our Test Credit Card method. Test transactions can be processed through the box office screen or through the public pages - any screen that has the 3 credit card entry fields, or on the new door sales screen in the cardswipe field.
When testing, we recommend that you test it both in public pages and box office if your pricing varies by sales method. You want to ensure that everything is working correctly and as you intended.
ProTip: Be sure to use your own patron record when processing a test transaction, whether in the box office screen or on the public pages. If you process a test transaction under a patron record, it will send a confirmation email to the email address on the patron record. So as not to confuse one of your patrons, be sure you are using your own patron record for this process.
ProTip: When testing on the public pages, if you were in a patron record in the box office screen and then move to the public pages, this patron record will still be the active patron record you are logged into. If this happens, you'll notice the patron's name in the upper right with a 'logout' option. Be sure to log out of that patron's record prior to continuing with your test transaction (you'll be able to log in to your own record when you reach the end of the purchase path).
Test transactions require credit card (CC) as the payment method. After you have selected your tickets/donation/retail items, input your administrator user login (email address) in the credit card number field, leave expiration date alone and enter any three digits into the card code field. Click the button to finish the transaction. The transaction is then complete and will behave like any other transaction until it disappears automatically at midnight.
Note: You must be logged in as an administrative user to process a test transaction. To test via the public pages you must have gone to the public pages from inside the system, not from your own website.
