You can test prices and discounts by selecting tickets in the box office screen or via the public pages without applying a payment. When the tickets are placed on the order, the price term applied will display on the screen. If for some reason the pricing is not applying correctly, you will be able to tell what price term or terms were applied.
You must be logged in as an admin user to process a test transaction. To test via the public pages you must have gone to the public pages from inside the system, not from your own website.
If you want to test a transaction all the way through the payment process and even print a ticket, test reporting, etc, you can do so by using the Test Credit Card method. The test credit card payment method is available on the box office screen and through the public pages - any screen that has the 3 credit card entry fields, or on the new door sales screen in the cardswipe field.
Test your pricing from both public pages and the box office screen, if your pricing varies by sales method.
ProTip: If you process a test transaction under a patron record, it will send a confirmation email to the email address on the patron record. Use your own patron record when processing a test transaction, whether in the box office screen or on the public pages.
Caution: When accessing your public pages, if you open a patron's record in the box office screen or database screen and then move to the public pages, this patron record will be the patron record the transaction is attributed to. If this happens, you will notice the patron's name in the upper right with a 'logout' option. Be sure to log out of that patron's record prior to continuing with your test transaction. You will be prompted to log into your patron account prior to completing the test transaction. NOTE: mobile buy path does not displayed the same patron login info. Make sure you exit any patron record prior to testing on the mobile purchase path.
Test transactions require credit card (CC) be selected as the payment method.
For clients that started before 09/15/2024, input your administrator user login (email address) in the credit card number field, leave expiration date alone and enter any three digits into the card code field.
For clients that started on or after 09/15/2024, after you select the "Test Transaction" checkbox, you will not have to enter any credit card information.
Select the "Complete Order" button to finish the transaction. Test transactions are automatically deleted each night.
