PRICING SECTION - Pricing sections are color coded areas of the venue on the chart and are used for PRICING tickets. So a venue might have 3 different colors for section 1, 2, 3, or Premier, regular, value, etc... these are about pricing - these will only appear in the purchase process, NOT on the tickets.
When building a venue seating chart, price sections are input on the seats using % and then the price section code. So a seat in orchestra left, row D, seat 23, in pricing section 1 might be input as OL-D23%1. Then below in the pricing section grid the pricing section might be setup as code 1, name Premier, color RED. This would make seats in that price section code as red on the seating chart view. When building pricing you'd set up price terms relative to the price sections, such as Adult in price section 1 as $25, vs Adult in price section 2 as $20.
SEATING SECTION - These are directional section names to help with SEATING. You might use these for things like Orch, Balcony, or even more specifically Orch Left, Orch Center, Orch RIght, etc. You might put labels on your chart near the sections so patrons can see the section names. They do not color code on the chart. The seating sections then PRINT ON THE TICKET to help the patron or usher to find the seats.
When building your venue you can put labels on the chart near the seating sections to display to patrons that this is orchestra left, this is orchestra right, etc. Then when building the seats the section code goes before the seat number with a dash, as in the above example of OL-D23%1. OL code would represent orchestra left, perhaps. Once you have your sections defined in the seats, input the seating sections below in the seating section grid with code such as OL (this will appear on box office tickets), and name such as Orch Left (this will print on the patron's Letter sized ticket).
