Neon Fundraise gives organizations the ability to allow donors to pay the credit card fees associated with each donation or ticket purchase. If enabled, donors can select a checkbox allowing them to cover the specified amount. By default, this setting is enabled, which means the checkbox appears on donation and ticket pages. To toggle this setting, follow these steps:
- Log in to the Admin at admin.rallybound.com
- Navigate to the entity (organization, group, or campaign) on which you'd like to configure this setting. Click here to learn more about inherited settings.
- Click the "Forms" tab
- Click "Donation Settings" in the left sidebar
- In the "Processing Fees" section, toggle the "Give option to cover fees on donation and ticketing pages" checkbox
Note: Neon Fundraise's fees will automatically be used in the calculation of fees. - To add processor fees, enter the percentage and flat fees for each transaction (keep in mind that .01 = 1%)
Neon Fundraise also provides the additional ability to preselect the cover-fees checkbox for donors. When this setting is enabled, the fees amount will be added to the donor's donation amount without the donor having to select the cover fees checkbox. If the donor does not want to cover fees, they will need to deselect the checkbox on the donation form. Enable this setting by following steps 1-4 above, then enable the "Add cover fees to donation amount by default" toggle.
The donor covers fees feature is not available for registration transactions.
Note: When a donor opts to cover fees, only the original donation amount — excluding fees — is counted towards goal amounts and displayed across the site and in reports. Similarly, the placeholder {{ Donation.Amount }}
returns the donation amount not including fees, while {{ Payment.Amount }}
returns the full donation amount including fees.
