This guide explains how fees for Arts People clients work—focusing on clients who use Neon Pay as their payment gateway. Our goal is to help you understand how platform fees (often referred to as Ticketing Fees or Arts People Fees) are calculated, reported, and processed.
Important NoteThis article currently covers only a small set of clients with platform fees deducted directly from their payouts. At launch, only Canadian clients will benefit from this new feature. This update will roll out on different dates based on your payout frequency to ensure a smooth transition from our current invoicing system:
Release for US clients will be announced in upcoming months. |

Viewing Your Fee Details
Fee Summaries:

- The Fee Summaries in Arts People will be replaced by a direct link to the Neon Pay Payouts page, where detailed fee information can be accessed.
- Historical fee summaries will remain available in the Arts People Accounting section.
Reporting in Neon Pay:
-
- Platform fees will appear as line items under the Balance tab and on individual Payout pages.
- For credit card transactions, fees will be labeled “Platform Fees” and also be available on the charge details page.
- Offline transactions (cash, checks, Other, and CCE payment methods) will display as “Offline Platform Fees” and only appear as separate line items in Balance and Payout pages.
- Use the Type ID (from Neon Pay) to match the Fee ID in Arts People’s Payout Reconciliation Report for accurate reconciliation.
Payout Reconciliation Report in Arts People:
-
- This report will now include both platform fees and credit card processing fees, offering a comprehensive view of all fee deductions.
Payments
Platform fees are automatically deducted from Neon Pay payouts, so no separate payments are required. However, you may still occasionally receive a separate invoice for additional services, such as data imports or other tasks outside the scope of your normal operations.
Additional Considerations
Refunds
- Platform fees are only refunded if the charge associated with it is voided. A charge is considered void only if it is fully refunded before its Neon Pay status turns to succeeded. The fees are final for all succeeded transactions and for all offline platform fees.
