Overview
Although Neon CRM has built-in reporting and analytics tools for many components of the CRM, ranging from the Campaign Email Statistics page to Executive Reports, your organization may be interested in advanced analytics or data analysis tools. This guide is intended to discuss common tools that you might want to integrate and how to get started with them in Neon CRM.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is useful for tracking your website traffic from when they first land on your site through to when they've completed a donation, purchased a membership, signed up to volunteer, etc. Another term often used for this is "conversion tracking", referring to converting a website visitor into a deeper relationship with your organization. Google Analytics is the industry standard for this type of tracking.
In order to set up and fully take advantage of Google Analytics, you'll first want to establish a Google Analytics account, connect it to your website, and then take your Google Analytics Measurement ID and add it to Neon CRM via Global Settings > Google Analytics Tracking.
Find this ID by logging into your Google Analytics account, then navigating to Admin > Data Collection and Modification > Data Streams. Click on the relevant data stream, and copy the Measurement ID.
Enable GA4 Purchase Tracking if you would like specific dollar amounts to be associated with data sent from Neon CRM to Google Analytics. If you don't turn this option on, you'll be able to see how many website visitors make donations by comparing visitors to the donation exit page. Or, if you choose to enable purchase tracking, you'll be able to associate a specific donation dollar amount to completed donations when reviewing data in Google Analytics.
Meta Pixel, Google Tag Manager (GTM), and other Tracking Pixels
If you would like to use a different analytics tracking method or multiple methods, such as Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn tracking, etc, this option is available but requires a custom installation of the pixel to your Neon CRM forms and pages by our Developers. Please contact us at crmsupport@neonone.com and provide the full pixel code. We'll also ask you to determine which of your Web Themes should have the pixel installed, or if you would like to install the pixel for all Themes. Once a pixel is installed on a Theme, all forms and pages using the theme will automatically have tracking. If you add additional Themes in the future, please contact us if your tracking pixel should be added to the new Themes, as well.
If you are using a conversion tracking pixel that is not one of the common options listed in this guide, you are also welcome to contact us - please provide the pixel code and name of the analytics software you plan to use. We will complete a security review for any pixels we haven't previously worked with, with an estimated review and setup time of 3-5 business days unless we need to request additional information.
Business Intelligence Tools
If you would like to integrate Neon CRM data with an advanced data analytics/data visualization tool - such as PowerBI, Google's Looker Studio, or Tableau - Neon CRM does not have direct integrations for a full data export to these tools, but you can configure a recurring data export using Neon CRM's Data Backup Utility. Click here for more information about setting up this tool.
