We're excited to share a preview of extensive updates coming soon to Neon CRM's Volunteer Opportunity Sign-Up capabilities.
These updates are tentatively planned for March 2025. Please note that the images below reflect design prototypes and may be subject to change.

Customize the Opportunity Sign-Up Process
You'll soon be able to fully customize the Opportunity sign-up flow using the new form builder.
Create unlimited volunteer forms depending on your specific needs. Forms can include all Opportunities and dynamically update to reflect newly-available options, or they can be targeted to specific Opportunities or Categories.
You can also choose to allow automatic approval of form submissions, so that new volunteers are automatically added to Opportunities with "Approved" status instead of requiring manual approval by a system user.
We understand that being able to control the opportunity sign-up process is important, so we're excited to provide you with many different configuration options within the form settings and fields.
Redesigned Form Experience
Updated forms will have the same look and feel as new account, donation, and membership forms, providing volunteers with a streamlined and modern sign-up flow.
Like other new forms, these volunteer forms will have options for embeddable pop-up buttons, QR codes, customizable exit pages, and more.
The current volunteer sign-up process will be replaced with a new default form which has the same settings. The existing URL will automatically redirect to this new version of the form, and will retain your existing account fields configuration, so you won't need to make any updates to get started.
Sign up for Specific Shifts
These updates will also include Shift sign-up on forms. You can make sure that your Opportunities' specific volunteer needs are met by presenting volunteers with your available Shift slots.
Additionally, if the Opportunity or Shifts have Roles available, these will now display and be available for sign-up.
Potential volunteers can see how many spots are available for each Shift and/or Role when signing up. Once a Shift or Role has met its maximum number of volunteers, it will be automatically hidden from the form.
Waiver Acknowledgements
You'll be able to add custom Waiver text to volunteer forms, and can choose between a checkbox or typed signature acknowledgement.
General Waivers can be added to forms for any volunteer to respond to, or you can add Waivers when editing a specific Opportunity.
If an Opportunity has an Opportunity Waiver, it will be automatically presented on a form whenever that Opportunity is selected by a volunteer.
Opportunity-Specific Settings
When creating or editing an Opportunity, you can control new Form Settings related to how the Opportunity should display on any Form to which it is added. These settings will automatically apply so you can focus on building each form.
A Restricted Availability option will allow you to limit who can see and sign up for specific Opportunities.
For example, you may have an Opportunity which should only be available to certain logged-in accounts. Perhaps this is an advanced option more suitable for volunteers who have logged a certain number of hours, those in a specific Volunteer Group, or those with a specific Individual Type.
Other settings available include a Form Description which shows when an Opportunity is selected on a form, Opportunity Images, Opportunity Waivers, options to control the behavior of shift and role sign-up, and more!
Updated Constituent Login Portal Experience
To go along with these sign-up improvements, we're also redesigning volunteer pages in the Constituent Login Portal.
A single page, My Volunteer Info, will display volunteers' assigned Opportunities & Role(s). Quick links will be available to customize their information on file, sign up for other Opportunities, and view or add Time Sheets. Mobile-optimized views are also available.
Additionally, a new Global Settings section will allow you to enable automatic Time Sheet approval, choose if (and how far in advance) volunteers should be able able to remove themselves from Opportunities or Shifts, and more!
