Congratulations on participating in a Giving Day! To help you attract more donors and increase donations, it is essential to make the most of your Neon Giving Days profile. By completing key sections and adding engaging content, you can tell your story compellingly and connect with potential donors on a personal level. Here are some ways to enhance your profile and maximize its impact.
Notes:
- Completing the sections described in this guide is recommended, but optional. If you leave a section blank, the section will not show on your organization’s profile.
- If any of the options described in this guide do not display in your Neon One Giving Days, the host has not enabled the option.
Instructions
Complete the About Us Section
The About Us section allows you to describe who your organization is, what you do, and why your work is important.
To complete the About Us section:
- Select the My Public Profile tab from the toolbar at the top of the screen.
- Select Edit My Public Profile.
- Scroll down to the Public Facing Content section and complete the About this Organization field.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and select Submit to save your changes.
Set a Goal
Setting a clear and achievable goal can inspire donors to contribute.
To set a goal:
- On the Gives Day Performance tab, scroll down to the Your Event Goal Progress section.
- Select Update Goals.
- Complete the Event Goal field and any additional fields you would like to display on your profile.
- Select Submit to save your changes.
Complete the What We Will Do with the Money Section
The What We Will Do with the Money section allows you to explain how the funds raised will be used.
To complete the What We Will Do with the Money section:
- Select the My Public Profile tab from the toolbar at the top of the screen.
- Select Edit My Public Profile.
- Scroll down to the Public Facing Content section and complete the What We Will Do with the Money field.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and select Submit to save your changes.
Add Testimonials
The Testimonials section allows you to show how your organization is making a difference.
To complete the Testimonials section:
- Select the My Public Profile tab from the toolbar at the top of the screen.
- Select Edit My Public Profile.
- Scroll down to the Public Facing Content section and complete the Testimonials field.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and select Submit to save your changes.
Add Donation Levels
Adding donation levels provides donors with specific examples of what their contributions can achieve.
To add donation levels:
- Select the My Public Profile tab from the toolbar at the top of the screen.
- Select Donation Levels in the left navigation bar.
- Select the Add a New Donation Level button.
- Complete the Amount and Label fields.
- Select Submit to save your new donation level.
Add Multimedia
Adding multimedia such as images and videos makes your profile more engaging.
To add multimedia:
- Select the My Public Profile tab from the toolbar at the top of the screen.
- Select Multimedia in the left navigation bar.
- Select the Add Multimedia Entry button.
- Enter the title of the multimedia element and select the Type drop-down arrow.

- If the multimedia element is a photo, select Picture, then select the Upload File button to locate and select the photo.
- If the multimedia element is a YouTube video, select YouTube, then enter the URL in the YouTube field.
- If the multimedia element is a Vimeo video, select Vimeo, then enter the URL in the Vimeo field.
Note: YouTube and Vimeo videos must be set to public/shareable to be accessible on your profile.
- Select Submit to save your new multimedia element.
Note: Multimedia elements display on your profile in the order in which they appear on the Multimedia page.
Add Programs
Adding programs allows you to describe your various initiatives and how they support your mission.
To add programs:
- Select the My Public Profile tab from the toolbar at the top of the screen.
- Select Programs in the left navigation bar.
- Select the Add New Program button.
- Enter the name of the program in the Program Name field and complete the remaining fields as needed. Provide as much information as you can to give donors more information about the program.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and select Submit to save your new program.
Add Volunteer Opportunities
Adding volunteer opportunities helps you attract donors who want to contribute their time and skills.
To add volunteer opportunities:
- Select the My Public Profile tab from the toolbar at the top of the screen.
- Select Volunteer in the left navigation bar.
- Select the Add button.
- Enter as much information as possible about the volunteer opportunity. Fields marked with an asterisk are required.
- Select Submit to save your new volunteer opportunity.
Add Upcoming Events
Adding upcoming events allows you to provide additional engagement opportunities for donors.
To add upcoming events:
- Select the My Public Profile tab from the toolbar at the top of the screen.
- Select Events in the left navigation bar.
- Select the Add New Event button.
- Enter as much information as possible about the event. Fields marked with an asterisk are required.
- Select Submit to save your new event.
