Learn how to create a custom field for use on a donation form in this step-by-step guide. After you create a campaign, if you wish to use a custom field on the campaign's donation form (such as the questions, "How did you hear about our organization?" or "Are you interested in becoming a volunteer with our organization?"), it is highly recommended that you create any such custom fields before you create the campaign's donation form. Since each organization is unique, custom fields allow you to tailor your donation form to meet your organization's needs. This help guide will cover how to create a custom field for use on a donation form.

- By default, only one response field option appears. Select Add Option as many times as needed to create the number of field option responses needed for the custom field. (For example, if you wish to have four options on a drop-down menu, select Add Option three times to create four total field option lines.) Note: You may also delete a field option line by selecting the checkbox next to the line you wish to delete and then select Delete.
-
- You can reorder the options by selecting the symbol on the left side and dragging and dropping the field up or down in the list.
- With all field option responses created, continue to Step 8.
7. The remaining text on the page pertains to legacy donation forms. If you are building your donation form using the legacy donation form, answer the following question per your needs. For most users, specifically, those using the Form Builder feature, this section does not apply. You may skip this step if you are not using a legacy donation form.
8. Select Create Custom Field.
Your new custom field will now appear on the Donation Custom Fields page.
