Neon Fundraise automatically processes donations from your campaign web pages. Though at times, you might be at a location that does not have internet access or you may be collecting cash or check donations. Neon Fundraise provides the option to download the CSV sample template, or the Bulk Donation form. This form allows you to document donation information and upload this information to Neon Fundraise in bulk.
Let’s say you are volunteering in your child’s classroom and as the parents arrive to pick up their children you mention the Reach for the Stars campaign. Many of the parents are excited about the program and provide you with a donation. To make sure you capture their information accurately, you downloaded the Bulk Donation form for situations just like this.
Let's look at how to download this form and review the required and recommended fields.
Downloading the Bulk Donation Sample Template
- On the Campaign Dashboard, select the campaign name from the list.
- From the campaign page, select the Transactions tab.
- The Donations page displays a list of donations for this campaign. Above this list you will see buttons for making donations, uploading CSV, Generating Excels, and Mass Actions. To download the Bulk Donation form, select Upload CSV.
- The Upload CSV pop-up gives you the option to browse your computer to upload a CSV file or download the CSV Sample Template. Select Download CSV Sample Template.
- The file will download to your computer. Rename and relocate this file where you choose. Select the file to open it. To make the row easier to read, select the first row and select the Wrap Text icon to read each of the titles.
- Now you can see the required and recommended fields on the form. It is important that you do not change, delete, or rearrange the field titles in the first row, as this will corrupt your file.
Field Name | Description |
Donor ID | This is an optional field for you to use if the donor has donated to your non-profit in the past. You can find this information by looking up the donor's account. |
Donor’s First, Last, or Company Name | These fields are required. You need to include either the first and last name or the company name. You do not need to include all three. |
Donor Location information | The donor location information includes, email, address, phone number, etc. Although these are not required, it is recommended that you collect as much information as possible. |
Donation Date | This date represents the day you collected this donation. Note: If this field is left blank, Neon Fundraise will default this date to the date the donation was entered into the system. |
Donation Amount | This field is required and should represent the amount that you collected from the donor. |
Donation Type (General Team ro Member) | This field indicates whether this donation is for a specific member or a team. If you submit General you do not need to complete the Donation to Member ID or Donations to Team ID. If this donation is credited to a specific member or team, you will need to enter the Member or Team ID. |
Payment Type | This field is required. Enter how you received the donation. This could include check, cash, offline credit card, wire, or InKind. |
Donation is Verified | This is the last required field. Based on your nonprofits policy, if you are the individual to verify the donations, enter True in this field. If someone else needs to verify the donations, you can leave this field blank, and when uploaded, this field will automatically display False. This can be manually changed later. |
