Immediately Publishing a Copied Event
Saving a Draft Version of a Copied Event and Publishing at a Later Date
Copying an event can be a time-saving feature when you need to set up a new event with similar details as an existing active (or previous, inactive) event. This function allows you to copy an event, retaining all information and settings (except occurrence scheduling information), while providing the flexibility to make necessary adjustments. Copying an event provides the following features:
-
Retained Information: The copied event retains all information and settings from the original event, except for occurrence scheduling.
-
Draft Status: When you copy an event, the copied version is saved as a draft. You then have the option to make adjustments and immediately publish the copied event or return to the event and publish it at a later date.
-
Flexibility: This feature provides the flexibility to quickly replicate events, reducing the time and effort required for setting up similar occasions.
Now you can efficiently create new events with confidence by leveraging the copy event feature to streamline your workflow.
Instructions
Copying an Existing Event
To copy an existing event:
1. Select Events in the navigation menu and select Events on the drop-down menu.
2. Select the event you wish to copy on the Events page (if you wish to copy a previous, now inactive, event, ensure the Status filter includes inactive events).
3. Select the three dot Action Menu in the upper right of the event overview screen.
4. Select Copy Event on the drop-down menu.
The Copy Event pop-up will appear. As the pop-up indicates, your copied event will retain all information and settings as the original event, except the copied event will not include any occurrence scheduling information.
5. On the Copy Event pop-up, enter a name for your event (the default name is "Copy of [name of the original event]). Then, select Schedule Event.
The Event Schedule section of the Events module will appear (as seen below).
At this point, you have two options. You may:
- Immediately add your new event's information and publish your copied event, or
- Keep your copied event in saved draft status and return to edit and publish it at a later date.
See the following two sections below for more information on how to proceed with these two options. Both options are outlined below.
Immediately Publishing a Copied Event
If you wish to immediately edit and publish your copied event, you must first select the new event's occurrence date(s) on the Event Schedule page:
1. Select Add Date or select a date on the calendar.
The Add Date pop-up will appear. On the Add Date pop-up:
2. Enter a start date for the event in the Starts on field.
3. Enter a start time in the field below the Starts on field.
4. If you wish to set an end time for the event, select the Set an end time checkbox and select a time.
5. Select the desired event frequency on the Frequency drop-down menu. The Frequency for an event can be one-time only (i.e. Does not repeat), weekly, monthly, weekdays, or weekends. If you select any value other than Does not repeat, you must specify the specific date information of the event, including the ending date of the frequency in the Ends section of the pop-up.
6. Select Add Date.
Your selected times and dates will appear on the calendar. Note: If you wish to make other changes to your event, such as pricing or event detail changes, select the applicable section from the menu on the left side of the page, and make your edits. Then, continue to Step 7.
7. Select Save Changes.
The Save Changes pop-up will appear.
8. Select Publish.
Your event is now published and will appear in Active status on the main Events page.
Saving a Draft Version of a Copied Event and Publishing at a Later Date
If you wish to save your copied event in draft status and return to publish it at a later date, you have two options:
a) After you copy your event, you may make all edits to your new event (i.e., add new event date occurrence information, new pricing information, as needed, etc.), save it as a draft, and return to publish it at a later time, or
b) Save your event as a draft, return to it at a later time to make event edits (i.e., add event date occurrence information, new pricing information, as needed, etc.), and then publish the event.
The next two sections of this guide explain both Options A and B.
Option A - Copy your event, make event edits, and publish it at a later date.
1. As you saw above, after you copy your event, you will arrive at the Event Schedule page. You will need to first add your new event's date occurrences and times. Select Add Date or select a date on the calendar.

9. If you wish to set an end time for the event, select the Set an end time checkbox and select a time.

If you select any value other than Does not repeat, you must specify the specific date information of the event, including the ending date of the frequency in the Ends section of the pop-up.
11. Select Add Date.
